Joint Entrance Examination – Advanced, formerly the Indian Institutes of Technology -Joint Entrance Examination, is an academic examination held annually in India.

  • Mode of Exam: Computer-Based (Online)
  • Exam Frequency: Once Per Year
  • Exam Duration: 3 Hours Each for paper 1 & Paper 2 (Mandatory); Total = 6 Hours
  • Conducted By: IIT-Delhi
  • Programmes: B.E., B.Tech, B.Arch & 5-year Integrated Courses.
  • Exam Languages: English & Hindi
  • Age Limit: DoB Must be on or after 1st October 1995 (1990 for SC/ST/PWD)
  • JEE Main Rank: Less than 2,50,000 (Only top 2,50,00 are Eligible)
  • Maximum Number of Attempts: 2 per Candidate
  • Qualifying Exam: Class 12 Board Examination or any Equivalent 2019 & 2020
  • Year of Clearing Qualifying Exam: 2019 and 2020
  • Minimum Marks in Qualifying Exam: 75% aggregate (or) top 20 percentile of the respective board
  • Other Requirements: Candidate not previously admitted in any 1
  • Question Types: MCQs with single and multiple correct choices, Matching list questions, Numerical value questions.
  • Questions with More than 1 Correct Option: Correct answer = +4; Partially correct = +3, +2, +1, Incorrect option selected = -2; Un attempted question = 0.
  • Numerical Value Questions: Correct answer = +3, Incorrect answer Unattempted = 0
  • Matching List and Single Correct Option: 0 Marks
  • Cutoff: Determined by NTA based on available seats and average score. Cutoff for JEE advanced 2019 General category) was 89.75
